Time to think and compose

During my recent stay in Key West just the calm evening of a sunset cruise, the only noise you hear is the wind forcing itself around the sails.  It can give one time to think without urban noise why we are here on earth.  Each person has their own connection to any place you may be, it is just the moment you realize life can be simple even if it is just for a couple of hours, like being on a sail boat.  On a sail boat not only can you feel the wind on the ship, but you can feel the energy of the wind moving it along with that same rhythm.  It had me thinking that our life has the same simple rhythm if we just have, or take the time to experience it.  You don't need to be on the ocean to feel the great experience of the wind, and a beautiful sunset.  That sort of thing happens nearly every day.  So in my opinion you can have quiet time if you try, and you can have that in your own back yard.  This might be just the best place on earth for “your moment”.

I am certain that this calm and solitude time I was blessed with during my time off from work on a great holiday in Key West awarded me with much more than time off from work.  This time I am certain has given me the inspiration to write new music.  Most importantly this holiday taught me to appreciate quiet time for one’s self.  Not sure if it is coming from my ability to take it all in due to my being on earth much longer than I thought I would thirty years ago.  Take this from Tony, cease the moment whenever you can, it will deliver great things in your life.

Happy Easter,
Tony Watson

Sunset Cruse Key West

One of the greatest things to do in Key West is to take the sunset cruse on the Jolly Roger.  The crew really does a great job of informing the patrons.  They even bring extra ice chest to keep your favorite drinks cold, and will bring them to you if you should ask them to.  My wife (Terri) took a lot of the best pictures, like this one which is good enough to frame in a large setting. I am sure we wouldn't go to Key West without taking the sunset cruse. It is definitely the best way to see the perfect sunset, not to mention having a chance to be on a large sail ship out on the ocean.

Vacation is good for the spirit!

I just spent the past week in Key West FL.  If you have never been there I must tell you it is quite the amazing spot.  We rent this cool little Conk House on Havana Lane.  It is one of the only times within the year that I feel like I really shut down to a minimal amount of energy. My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my wife and all of the great surroundings.  As you can see, just hanging out at Havana Lane is a great place to be.

One of the best ways to get around Key West is to ride your bike.  This is a bike I bought last year during our March 2010 visit to Havana Lane.  I left it with our neighbor, and sure enough one year later it was still chained to a tree in the alley waiting for me to return and ride it.  I have spent many cool hours just peddling around the small island soaking in the great water scenery, local people and Key West houses.

If you want to experience one the greatest places on earth, Key West is virtually the last large plot of land between the U.S. and Cuba, 90 miles as the crow flies.  In Key West we would say as the Rooster Flies.
